Colin Jones
Colin comes to 8th Light from Athens, Georgia, where he built web applications with Ruby on Rails and semantic XHTML/CSS. During his apprenticeship at 8th Light, he worked in Ruby, Java, Scheme, and Scala, and he learned test-driven development, along with numerous design patterns and techniques for improving code. He has blogged extensively about his software apprenticeship experience.
In August 2009, Colin will mentor software developers on a Rails project for non-profit group Mano a Mano at the Live Aid stage of the Agile 2009 conference in downtown Chicago.

Colin received a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Arts and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in 2002, and a Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance in 2004.
