Conceived and co-founded by Sittercity originators Genevieve Thiers and Dan Ratner, Entertainmint offers creators a vehicle purpose-built to deliver complete control of their creative expression as well as much-needed exposure and promotion, community building and engagement, financial and other bespoke support opportunities. Enabling artists such as filmmakers, animators, musicians, and writers to build communities while controlling the monetization of their intellectual property through web3 technologies, the Entertainmint platform is a powerful idea and showcase for what’s possible — both creatively and technologically.

Using web3 technologies, Entertainmint provides users the newfound ability to be a producer and super-fan, spearheading the development of shows through sizzle reels to pilots to full-form. Creators pitch shows on the platform while patrons choose to fund their favorites to ensure they get made. As shows progress, funders receiver special perks and access to the creative process.

Engaged from the earliest “what if” phase all the way through to actualization, our team has contributed to every aspect of Entertainmint’s journey — from initial research and design to platform engineering and development — as well as our commitment to the concept and its founders, which included taking an equity position as a seed round investor.

In partnership with the client, we helped to define the web3 strategy, determining which components should live on-chain. In order to take advantage of both web2 and web3 markets, many pieces could live on-chain or in the cloud while still providing value to the end users and avoiding the gas prices. Together, we developed a cost-effective strategy that builds confidence with the users.

The result? A collaborative and holistic team approach that thrives on mutual trust and aligned interests. Simply put, projects like Entertainmint are the best kind of challenging for us, and it's incredibly energizing to be part of something this disruptive and potentially game-changing for so many people.

From the start, the founders sought to capture the web3 audience without alienating web2 users who were not yet familiar with web3 concepts. “We didn’t want to lose the massive web2 market,” says Genevieve Thiers, founder and CEO. “We wanted to bring the web2 users along with education so they could participate with Entertainmint and also play a part in the exciting new web3 world.”
