8th Light is pleased to announce that it has greatly advanced its mission to be the partner of choice for ambitious software development projects by hiring Jon Wettersten to be its new Head of Design.
Jon will direct the continued evolution of 8th Light’s design agenda and capabilities. In addition to leading the design function, he will strengthen 8th Light’s multi-disciplinary, integrated approach to crafting software in which designers and developers (“crafters” in 8th Light parlance) collaborate throughout a project’s lifecycle to define and deliver a client’s product vision.
Jon joins 8th Light after 13+ years at IDEO, an award-winning global design firm, where he was most recently an Executive Design Director leading IDEO’s software product design capabilities. Jon has extensive expertise guiding companies through the design-to-delivery process to build and scale modern product teams in service of digital transformation. He has also been at the forefront of integrating software and data science as human-centered design disciplines to collaboratively build products that genuinely improve people's lives. Jon brings over 25 years of designing and developing software solutions with substantial experience across health care and medical devices, financial services, consumer products, and retail.
